Geotechnical Engineer Job Opening:
Soils and Structures Inc. seeks Geotechnical Engineer to oversee geotechnical investigations: specify, implement, and interpret the results of soil and rock investigations including drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, and laboratory testing. Prepare geotechnical investigation reports for a variety of projects. Perform and oversee field testing and inspections including pile installation, load testing, and other instrumentation installation and monitoring. Perform facility and site inspections. Geotechnical and Civil Engineering design and analysis such as settlement analysis, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, erosion, pavements, retaining walls, and dams. Prepare plans and specifications. Manage projects for scope, schedule, and budget compliance. Collaborate with engineers in other offices. Review boring logs. Prepare soil reports. Execute engineering calculations.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Civil Engineering or closely related field with successful completion of baccalaureate or higher coursework in Advanced Computational Methods in Geomechanics, Drilling & Blasting Engineering, Probabilistic Analysis & Reliability, AI for Engineers, Systems Analysis for Sustainability & Resilience, and Social Dimensions of Natural Hazards. Also requires completion of research or internship which included Bio-inspired Geotech and Soil Stabilization topics using Rocscience, AutoCAD, and Onshape.
