Project Title: The Grove at Veridian
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Description of Work: Construction Material Testing, Laboratory Testing
Value: $20 M
Managing Office: Ann Arbor
The Grove at Veridian is a recently completed affordable housing community. It officially opened in summer 2025 as part of a larger 13.5-acre “eco-village” on the site of the former County Poor Farm.
Key Highlights
-
Net-Zero Living: It is one of the first neighborhoods in the U.S. to be 100% electric. It uses a massive rooftop solar array and battery storage, meaning there are no gas lines on the property.
-
Affordable Housing: The project features 50 units (ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms).
-
30 units provide permanent supportive housing for those who were previously unhoused.
-
20 units are reserved for households earning 60% or less of the area’s median income.
-
-
Sustainable Design: The buildings meet high green-building standards, featuring energy-efficient appliances and “car-lite” amenities like e-bike sharing.
-
Park Access: The layout uses a “farm-style” aesthetic with front porches that lead directly to walking trails and the adjacent 130-acre County Farm Park.
