Muskegon County, MI – Greater Muskegon Economic Development (GMED) is pleased to announce the approval of a tax abatement supporting an expansion project by Soils & Structures at its headquarters located at 6480 Grand Haven Road in Norton Shores. The project represents a $2.7 million capital investment and reinforces the company’s long-standing commitment to Muskegon County and the regional construction industry.
“The City of Norton Shores is excited about the $2.7 million expansion for Soils & Structures,” said Anthony Chandler, City Administrator for the City of Norton Shores. “This investment from a long-established business reflects their confidence in our local economy.”
Soils & Structures plans to construct an office addition and renovate its existing office space to support continued growth. The expansion will retain 62 existing jobs and create five new, well-paying positions over the next two years. In addition to job growth, the company plans to increase minimum wages and invest in upgraded equipment to enhance operations. The project is expected to be completed by October 2027.
